July 1st to October 1st - Body Transformation Outline

This challenge was originally created for 10th Planet Austin members, but after hearing from people throughout the Austin martial arts community, we decided to open it up to everyone.


Our goal isn't simply to see who can lose the most weight. It's to create better habits and build a healthier community.


To help with that, we'll be creating an accountability group through email to start, with the possibility of moving to another platform as the challenge grows. Throughout the 90 days, we'll share ideas, discuss habits we're working on, encourage one another, and celebrate progress along the way.

We will be creating an accountability group on the platform where the most people are engaged, likely Instagram.


If doing this at home, all you need to do is take a before picture for yourself (front, side, and back if you can) and get your starting weight.


The challenge began July 1st! But we will be taking entries through Sunday, July 5th.


Frankly, it’s up to you. We just want you involved if you’re motivated to make a change.


Martial arts training will be the foundation of the challenge, but transformation doesn't happen on the mats alone. We'll also be focusing on habits such as increasing daily steps, improving nutrition, prioritizing sleep, and adding strength and conditioning where appropriate.

Monthly Rewards for 10th Planet Austin Members

Our philosophy is simple: reward consistency.


Month One

Complete an average of three check-ins per week for the month (on average), complete any weekly challenges, and receive:

  • A free 10th Planet Austin T-shirt or one pound of ground beef from Guerrilla Grocers


Month Two

Complete an average of three check-ins per week for the second consecutive month and receive:

  • A free 10th Planet Austin rash guard

  • One gallon of raw milk or one pound of ground beef from Guerrilla Grocers


Month Three

Complete at least three check-ins per week for all three months and receive:

  • A discounted membership for the following month


Throughout the challenge, we'll also announce surprise pop-up challenges designed to keep everyone engaged. These may include goals such as:

  • Average 10,000 steps per day for a week

  • Check in for five training sessions in a week

  • Complete a nutrition challenge like meal prep goals

  • Hit a mobility or recovery goal

  • Complete a community challenge with a friend


These pop-up challenges will come with additional prizes and recognition throughout the summer.


We will also be making the Guerrilla Grocers Farmer’s Market that we held last Sunday a monthly thing, while maintaining a fridge and freezer filled with raw milk, beef, and fish.

At the end of the challenge, our management team will review each participant's overall transformation—not just physical results, but consistency, effort, and commitment. We'll also invite the @10PATX community to help celebrate the finalists as we determine the recipient of the grand cash prize.


More than anything, we hope this challenge helps people become healthier, more disciplined, and more connected to the community around them.
